Group Accountant

 

6 month fixed-term contract. 

 

Location: London Victoria (hybrid model, minimum 3 days in office).

In the role of Group Accountant, you will be responsible for gathering, reviewing, and analysing financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness in the Group’s reporting systems. Duties will include quarterly and year-end financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, technical accounting support and preparation of financial analysis to support decision-making.

 

The role:

As Group Accountant your focus will be:

  • Timely communication of key issues and decisions with Group Technical Reporting Manager and Senior Group Technical Analyst
  • Point of contact to Regional and School finance managers
  • Collaboration with external auditors, and external consulting teams
  • Working with Legal, Tax, and FP&A teams on accounting and reporting matters
  • Ensure complete and accurate financial reporting
  • Analyse financial performance against budget and forecast
  • Assist in preparation of technical disclosure notes for audits
  • Support quarter-end reporting requirements
  • Prepare audit deliverables and respond to auditor queries
  • Support finance system upgrades or process automation initiatives

 

The Successful Candidate will possess:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified with some PQE.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS requirements
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis)
  • Experience preparing reconciliations and external reports
  • Practical approach to problem-solving
  • Experience with group consolidations and reporting processes
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and supporting audits
  • Understanding of the education sector
  • Exposure to international markets and working with multiple currencies
  • Familiarity with accounting systems (Nav BC; OneStream)
