About the Role
We are looking for an Associate DevOps Engineer (0–2 years of experience) with foundational knowledge of DevOps practices, cloud/on-prem environments, and scripting. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates who have basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization, virtual machines, Kubernetes, and scripting languages (Python, shell, etc.) and are eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
You will support the development and operations teams in setting up and maintaining build, deployment, and monitoring pipelines under guidance from senior engineers. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with infrastructure automation, configuration management, and CI/CD tooling while contributing to real-world applications across eCommerce, retail, and supply chain platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application builds and deployments.
Work with senior team members to configure and manage environments on on-premise virtual machines and Kubernetes clusters.
Learn and apply basic scripting using Python, shell, or Groovy to automate simple tasks and support build/deployment processes.
Perform basic troubleshooting for build or deployment issues with guidance from senior engineers.
Participate in code reviews and documentation of processes and tools.
Support developers during testing and pre-production deployments.
Monitor the health and status of CI/CD tools and environments and raise issues as needed.
Collaborate with peers and senior engineers to understand and adopt best practices in DevOps.
Continuously build understanding of DevOps tools, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), source control (Git/GitHub), and basic cloud/on-prem concepts.
Required Skills & Knowledge (Understanding/Exposure Level)
Basic understanding of:
Virtual Machines and on-prem infrastructure concepts
Containerization using Docker and Kubernetes fundamentals
CI/CD pipeline concepts (e.g., Jenkins)
Version control systems (Git/GitHub)
Exposure to scripting or programming in Python and one other scripting language (e.g., shell or Groovy).
Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts.
Strong eagerness to learn new tools, technologies, and best practices in DevOps.
Good problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
Eligibility
Experience: 0–2 years in a related role (internships/projects included).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
