How will you make a difference?

The Senior Engineer – T4 Engine Mission Based Team is responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design, development, and release of the next generation T4 Engine. This engineer will work on a focused team of high performers to directly impact customer experience of the T4 Engine and will be responsible for tackling complex Engine system interaction problems to improve the overall robustness of the T4 Engine. This engineer will also be responsible for providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers working on T4 Engine Mission Based Team projects across the Engine & Power Solutions team.

What do we want to know about you?

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering field
• Minimum 15 years professional experience related to the design, validation, application or field service of mechanical components or systems.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience related to typical design and validation processes such as FMEA and tollgate-style review.
• Previous experience working with engine systems with detailed understanding of system interactions. Desired expertise in vibration analysis and mitigation techniques.
• Experience with physics-based analysis tools and techniques
• Confident ability to present technical details to an audience of peers, expert reviewers, and executive leadership
• Ability to work constructively in a fast-paced, team-based environment and accommodate shifting priorities
• Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion.
• Desire to mentor, motivate, and contribute to the technical growth of less experience engineers
• Willingness to travel (10%)

What will your typical day look like?

• Generate ideas related to system level improvements for the Tier 4 Engine and scope technical feasibility
• Collaborate with the Engine & Power Systems Team to drive the Tier 4 Engine Support System projects to completion
• Complete design reviews following the tollgate process to release new Tier 4 Engine Components to the field. This includes activities such as requirements generation, detailed design, drawing release, supplier selection, PPAP release
• Work with T4 Engine Validation Leader and T4 Engine Parts & Field Coordinator on validation and field release strategy
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a global team of engineers responsible for the design, analysis, validation, and reliability of engine/cooling systems for primarily diesel power applications.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
