The opportunity
Information Security Media Group (ISMG) is seeking to hire a full-time Copy Editor to join our Global Copy Desk team.
Summary:
The Copy Editor will be responsible for copy editing, proofreading and content creation, as well as providing business communication support to various internal departments and lines of business within ISMG. The Copy Editor will work with diverse content formats, including articles, abstracts, interviews, webinars, newsletters and custom content. The Copy Editor will contribute to developing, executing, and maintaining editorial processes that meet the highest global standards.

The opportunity
Information Security Media Group (ISMG) is seeking to hire a full-time Copy Editor to join our Global Copy Desk team.
Summary:
The Copy Editor will be responsible for copy editing, proofreading and content creation, as well as providing business communication support to various internal departments and lines of business within ISMG. The Copy Editor will work with diverse content formats, including articles, abstracts, interviews, webinars, newsletters and custom content. The Copy Editor will contribute to developing, executing, and maintaining editorial processes that meet the highest global standards.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Providing desk services for editorial content
- Editing and proofreading content in various formats, including articles, audio/video interviews, webinars, newsletters, custom content, etc
- Transcribing and editing transcripts of multimedia content, such as video interviews, audio interviews, webinars and event sessions
- Ensuring all content meets quality standards before publication
- Coordinating with the creative team for illustrations or photographs to enhance layouts
- Supporting marketing initiatives by creating and publishing content as required by various departments and lines of business
- Providing copy desk support to other ISMG brands and business units
- Collaborating and networking with other editors and writers for custom content initiatives
- Ghostwriting for custom content creation
- Proofreading text and correcting spelling, grammar and punctuation errors
- Verifying the factual correctness of information, including dates and statistics
- Checking content for style, readability and adherence to global editing guidelines
- Ensuring the correct tone, voice, clarity, flow and structure of content
- Collaborating with the team to generate fresh and creative ideas while considering the target audience
- Communicating effectively and working with the relevant teams to ensure timely content publication
- Staying informed about the latest developments and trends in the cybersecurity and technology domains through continuous learning
- Master's degree in any field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of AP Stylebook and strong editing abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
- Efficient multitasking ability with good time management skills
- Capability to work effectively under pressure and adhere to deadlines
- Proactive, detail-oriented and the ability to take initiatives
- Flexibility in adapting to a changing work environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and technology domains would be an added advantage
