Retail Banking Sales & Service

Partners with internal stakeholders to drive sales activities and results for designated retail sales programs and products. Serves as the market expert to grow share and enhance program effectiveness. Builds strong relationships across the designated market, participating in joint sales calls, team meetings, and strategic initiatives.

Identifies and refers business opportunities to key partners, including Commercial Banking and Wealth Management, to deliver holistic client solutions.

U.S. Only: This position will act as an originator of consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (the S.A.F.E. Act). Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry is required. The Bank will provide guidance on registration requirements. A criminal background review and credit history evaluation will be conducted, and restrictions apply regarding real estate agent activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes market business plans and sales strategies to achieve program objectives.
  • Represents retail programs and products at sales calls, events, and seminars.
  • Generates appointments and business opportunities to drive results.
  • Prioritizes client and prospect pipelines and coordinates event schedules.
  • Manages regional retail programs to maximize client engagement across BMO.
  • Partners with Commercial Banking and Wealth Management to identify cross-functional opportunities, enhance client outcomes, and support integrated financial solutions.
  • Provides strategic input and recommendations to senior leaders based on market insights and stakeholder needs.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on retail products, regulations, and policies.
  • Networks with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and share best practices.
  • Develops business cases by identifying needs, analyzing options, and assessing ROI.
  • Leads change management initiatives, communication strategies, and operational programs.
  • Designs and produces reports and dashboards to monitor performance and inform decision-making.
  • Oversees data governance and analytics frameworks to ensure data integrity and alignment.
  • Supports strategic initiatives and process improvements across business groups.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Applies expertise to solve complex, non-routine problems and adapt to shifting market trends.
  • May be assigned broader responsibilities as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Meets all CFPB and SAFE Act requirements; adheres to compliance, regulatory, and legal guidelines
  • Expert knowledge of retail products and branch networks
  • Proven success in business development and delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Strong presentation, communication, and time management skills
  • Collaborative and proactive team player with a focus on building trust and partnerships
  • Skilled in managing multiple clients and events simultaneously
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities
  • Effective influencer with cross-functional collaboration expertise
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to change

Salary:

$112,200.00 - $209,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
