Position Summary: The Commission Specialist will be responsible for administering, auditing, and optimizing the commission plans for Primis Mortgage Company. This role will leverage the Compensafe platform, owned by nCino, to ensure accurate commission and bonus calculations for mortgage loan closings. The position requires a strong understanding of compensation structures, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with various departments to ensure a seamless payroll process.
Essential Functions
- Develop, modify, and maintain compensation plans, including commission and bonus structures for mortgage loan officers and other staff members in Compensafe.
- Manage the Compensafe platform to accurately calculate and track commissions and bonuses from loan closings.
- Conduct audits on commissions, compensation calculations, and system processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Work closely with the CEO for final review and approval of compensation plans and audits, and coordinate with Primis Bank payroll for timely submission and processing.
- Ensure that all compensation practices and packages comply with internal policies and relevant regulations, providing detailed reports as needed.
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Marginal Functions
- Assist in drafting sales offer letters and send through DocuSign.
- Point of contact to respond to questions from employees regarding commissions.
- Ensure accurate employment status for all employees in Compensafe.
- Manage system notifications, implement new system versions, and ensure all compensation processes are aligned with business needs.
- Maintain compliance with and adhere to all state and federal regulations and bank policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, FACT ACT, Community Reinvestment Act, and EEO/AA/Fair Employment Practices.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Educational & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Human Resources, business administration, or a related field preferred
- Experience in payroll processes and compensation planning in the mortgage industry is required
Minimum Skill Requirements
- Proven experience in compensation analysis or a related role, preferably in the mortgage or financial services industry.
- Familiarity with compensation management software, with experience using Compensafe (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of accuracy in calculations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Physical Demands
In terms of an 8-hour workday, “occasional” equals 1% to 33%, “frequent” equals 34% to 66% and “continuous” equals 67% to 100%.
