Description

POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for, but not limited to, developing and implementing, in cooperation with program services and area teams, a comprehensive program of behavioral management training and support.

 

I.          ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assists center staff with child behavior issues.
  • Develop and implement a behavioral training program to include emotionally challenged, attention deficit, hyperactive disorder, aggressive behavior, etc.
  • Maintain statistical information relating to case studies and report to training director and program services team.
  • Ensure compliance of the policies and procedures in practice and with regulatory agencies.
  • Develop a referral base, crisis intervention and development of training tools.
  • Keep abreast of current behavioral management techniques by attending related seminars, conferences, forums, etc.                
  • Serves as liaison for the agency with community organizations, i.e. school board, CCC, JWB, etc.
  • Conducts parent and staff training/workshops as well as parent contacts and conferences as needed.
  • Contracts with parents to cooperate with agency guidelines when their children are being terminated or suspended for behavior.
  • Coordinates ADA issues with agency social worker.
  • Performs such other duties as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications


SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

This position requires extensive contact with others and highly complex communications as a regular part of the job.  The incumbent must exercise a moderate degree of independent judgment and initiative with minimal supervision under circumstances in which agency policy is generally well established but requires interpretation.  Errors in judgment could have serious consequences.  Must be able to develop and foster a sense of team and close cooperative working relationship with supervisor, staff, parents and other agency clients and model agency standards and values at all times.

 

III.        SCREENING QUALIFICATIONS

Requires Bachelor’s degree in psychology (focusing on children and adolescents) or related field plus a minimum of 2 years experience dealing with child behavioral issues.  Must possess or be willing to obtain licensing board and agency standards for person in charge.
