SUMMARY
The Banquet Server ("Servidor de Banquetes") position provides a courteous, timely and professional service in the restaurant, shows complete knowledge of all menus and pricing, as well as a proactive, customer-oriented attitude. Welcomes our guests with a smile and with a friendly, courteous greeting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Cordially and professionally presents food items during banquet events, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
  • Assures gusset satisfaction by delivering prompt, consistent service in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Actively observes guests to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meals have been completed and additional service is required.
  • Know all pertinent information about the hotel and its services. Be able to answer any questions regarding these services.
  • Follows required sanitation policies.
  • Is responsible for complete knowledge of menus, including cooking time, ingredients, etc.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Qualifications



QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Previous similar position in a restaurant or hotel is preferred.
  • Experience in dealing with the public is required, such as customer service in retail, food & beverage, hospitality, etc.
  • Required to have strong knowledge of service, food, beverages, and wine, including proficiency in bottled wine service and cocktail order-taking.
  • Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
  • RBS certification required.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and a professional appearance at all times.
  • Must be able to lift heavy trays (up to 10 entrees per tray), stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
