Position Summary:
This position uses a broad technical knowledge in photography, video and storytelling to contribute to the marketing team’s efforts to share PCS’s programs, stories, and values with our community. A highly collaborative creative professional, the Content Creator will collaborate with the Marketing team as they execute the essential duties: shooting a range of projects and subjects, as well as contributing to and executing on the steps of visual content creation including ideation, pre-production, capture, post-production, and preparation for a variety of print, web, social, and other applications. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and works closely with members of the Marketing, Production, Artistic, Education/Community Programs, and Development teams, as well as with visiting artists. Functions and Duties:
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Artistic teams to create fresh, creative storytelling concepts and content about PCS programs and productions
- Execute social media strategies, including generating content, monitoring engagement, and tracking outcomes. Primary channels include Facebook and Instagram. This position will also support efforts on Google, Yelp, Trip Advisor, YouTube, Vimeo, Pinterest, etc.
- Shoot still and video content for projects, including behind the scenes, on-location shoots, and program and event coverage
- Write, produce, and edit visual, audio, and animation-based projects, including but not limited to: short-form content, trailers, promos and other branded/promotional content
- Provide additional video production as needed for production B-roll, archives, etc.
- Ensure that the content captured aligns with the established creative direction and supports PCS’s vision, values, and goals
- Quickly edit and process imagery and/or motion content and optimize for sharing across multiple platforms after each shoot
- Select and assemble proper camera and lighting equipment based on project needs
- Research subject matter prior to every photoshoot and apply an equity lens to all projects and processes
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of video and photography best practices and procedures
- Coordinate production schedule with Marketing and Artistic staff, and with Stage Managers of each individual production; ensure that timely notice is provided prior to any photoshoots involving union artists
- Manage photo and video database, and maintain standards set by Actors’ Equity Association and other stakeholders as they pertain to photo and video assets
- Contribute as a member of the Marketing & Communications team, including email marketing, website content creation, and other ongoing team activities.
- Execute all job duties with an anti-racist approach, seek to improve the marketing team's equity efforts, and evaluate all practices with an equity lens
- Learn and uphold the PCS IDEA Community Guidelines as relates to all interactions within the broader PCS community

Skills and Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of photography and videography
- Experience in photographing live shows or events
- Ability to produce, photograph, and edit video for social media and digital applications in an efficient and cost-effective manner
- Knowledge of DSLR cameras and Canon XH-A1 or other similar video cameras
- Knowledge of correct sound levels, capturing audio with wireless mics, and inputted xlr mics and line feeds
- Knowledge of principles of lighting, composition, and color to achieve optimal results in a variety of complex and challenging lighting situations
- Prefer experience with Adobe Creative Suite (including but not limited to Photoshop, Premier, Lightroom, and After Effects).
- Knowledge of the post-production process, including editing, color, and retouching
- Deep understanding of social media and video hosting channels and the specific types of content needed to resonate with channel-specific consumers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and planning skills, including the ability to meet quick turnaround times, multi-task, prioritize projects, and clearly communicate progress
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment, take direction, and adapt quickly
- Ability to organize and maintain archives
- Other duties as assigned

- Most work is performed in an office environment in a stationary position for up to 75 percent of the time; requires the ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e. a calculator, copy machine, computer printer)
- This position requires the ability to regularly move about inside office and theater spaces to collaborate with colleagues, converse with and greet patrons, attend events, etc.
- Must be able to exchange information, discuss ideas, express oneself and communicate effectively with a diverse group of community members.
- Must move objects weighing up to 25 pounds for event/photo setup.
- Must have schedule flexibility to adapt content creation to production schedule.
Salary & Benefits:
- Part-time, non-exempt, approximately 20 hours per week
- $25/hour
