Position Summary

The Collaboration and Productivity Services intern at South Jersey Industries is an excellent opportunity for students interested in development, configuration, and application administration to make an impact on business processes and overall business efficiency. The Collaboration and Productivity Services intern will troubleshoot and resolve complex problems within the ServiceNow and Microsoft 365 platform. This role also works on the automation and improvement of processes in ServiceNow and Microsoft 365. This intern will learn Collaboration and Productivity Services processes and procedures and document them in the operational knowledge base. Additionally, this role will help to build out the Service Catalog with forms, workflows, and notifications. This student will also participate in SJI’s Ignite Summer Internship Program and to participate in events which help them build a strong network within the SJI community and with fellow early talent professionals. Interns enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work environment throughout the comprehensive program. This program also offers participants mentorship, educational seminars, volunteer opportunities, and visibility within the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage tickets in the ServiceNow and Microsoft 365 queue and ensure all operational work is completed
  • Meet with business partners to understand enhancement requests
  • Turn enhancement requests into technical blueprints for development
  • Develop custom solutions using ServiceNow and Microsoft 365 to help SJI automate processes
  • Create custom workflows and forms to improve existing processes
  • Research and present one improvement to ServiceNow or Microsoft 365

Required Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate problems and generate solutions
  • Technical acumen with the ability to interpret and solve technical problems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and to work well independently

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with XML, JavaScript, and/or Boolean logic
  • Understanding of ITIL v4, specifically ITSM
  • Attention to detail to successfully execute documentation and testing
  • ServiceNow or Microsoft 365 experience

Qualifications

Required Background:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar field.

    Compensation Range:

    $17 - 28

    We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
