Purpose of Job:
The Sr. Human Resources Specialist position will provide support in several areas of Human Resources which include employment, recruiting, staffing, performance management, employee relations and investigations while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The Sr. HR Specialist will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards that supports our Mission and Values. The Sr. HR Specialist formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to Admin, Regional Teams, and employees that reflects the objectives of the GOAL Academy. This position reports to the Senior Human Resources Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions on the HR Team.

Team Player in the development and sustainment of GOAL’s Human Resources Team:
- Partners with Regional Team Leadership, providing HR guidance as appropriate while providing the best-in-class customer services to all you encounter.
- Partners with Human Resources Management team and resolve complex employee relations challenges. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective employee investigations.
- Assist with managing FMLA and ADA and other leaves required by federal / state law and company policy.
- Assist with Title IX investigations under the guidance of trained staff; individuals in this role will receive comprehensive training to support investigation procedures in compliance with federal regulations and GOAL policies.
- Assist Sr. HRM and HRM with developing and delivering HR-related training including monthly presentations.
- Help support the staffing and benefits generalists during high volume seasons.
- Works closely with the Senior HRM and HRM to assess the pulse of the organization and identify opportunities for increased employee engagement and alignment with the organization’s mission and values.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring to complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Partners with the wellness community help coordinate employee wellness activities.
- Keeps the Senior HRM informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of school goals, and those that are not being addressed adequately at the management level.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must reside in Colorado
- Must have a valid driver's license
Requirements:
- Broad knowledge and recent experience in Employee Relations / Investigations, Recruiting, Staffing, Retention, FMLA/ADA, Employment Law, Performance Management, and Training/Development.
- Ability to assess and provide solutions to complex personnel problems.
- Demonstrated ability to present information clearly, confidently, and effectively.
- Demonstrated abilities to work well with others in a diverse educational community.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities requiring critical thinking and complex problem-solving techniques.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, preferred.
- 4 years of broad HR Generalist level experience in Investigations, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Staffing, Performance Management, Administering FMLA/ADA, and Employment Law.
- 1 years’ experience in employee relations and workplace investigations required.
- PHR or SPHR preferred certification.
