Job Title: Rooming Nurse - LPN
Reports To: RN Site Manager

Travel Required: varies between Westfield & Fredonia offices
Position Type: Full-time 40 hours per week, Non-exempt
Pay Information: $18.50 - $22.50 per hour
SUMMARY:
The Rooming Nurse assists providers with patient care by using current standards for preventative measures. Works within the scope of practice to obtain necessary medical data for a patient's visit.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtain vital signs and perform medication reconciliation during rooming process in a timely and professional manner
- Report patient health-related needs to provider
- Use Disease Management and Health Maintenance as age-based tool to assist with and create orders, administer vaccines, and other incentive measures
- Perform various medical procedures and assist providers
- Work in messaging and document tanks to return patient calls about medical questions and results
- Assist to schedule appointments for patients as needed
- Ensure patient records are up to date and accurate
- Enter patient information in electronic chart system as needed
- Monitor inventory and expiration dates on medical supplies and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean environment set forth by OSHA guidelines
- Maintain strict HIPAA standards when speaking or faxing patient information
- Maintain licensing and appropriate updated trainings
- Participate and communicate in team meetings to improve processes
- Provide back up where needed, attend to walk-ins, and assist reception with resolving patient issues or complaints
- May assist in other departments as needed
- Any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Six months to a year of experience preferred
- New York State Practical Nursing Licensure required
- CPR training required
- Nursing Degree required

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical requirements and working environment are typical of most medical office settings. Employees are frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, balance, hear, talk, reach, and use their hands. Employees may occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (stepstool) and stretch. Physical effort requires some lifting usually not in excess of 25 pounds. The office work environment is indoors and free from dust, smoke, moisture, and excessive noise.
