Job Description:We are seeking a hands-on, proactive leader to drive safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement on the shop floor. In this role, you’ll spend the majority of your time working directly with shop floor employees—coaching, mentoring, and empowering them to perform at their best.
You’ll be the key link between operational goals and the team that executes them, ensuring daily targets are met while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and respect.
Qualifications:Leadership & Team Development:
- Be a visible leader on the shop floor—guiding, coaching, and motivating employees daily.
- Communicate company goals, performance expectations, and the “why” behind daily work clearly and consistently.
- Mentor employees on professional conduct aligned with company values and culture.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback—recognizing achievements and addressing behavioral or performance issues.
- Build and sustain a positive, team-oriented work environment with high employee morale and engagement.
- Manage employee scheduling, time, attendance, and resource coverage.
Safety & Compliance:
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture; ensure all safety protocols are followed without exception.
- Investigate safety incidents or concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Lead by example—ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Operational Excellence:
- Drive continuous improvement through lean practices and employee involvement.
- Lead and participate in kaizen events, Gemba walks, and daily problem-solving efforts.
- Encourage frontline ownership of challenges—empowering operators to find and implement solutions.
- Optimize manpower and equipment utilization to meet production targets.
- Monitor WIP inventory for accuracy and ensure timely commitments are met.
- Manage and expedite jobs requiring cross-cell or shared resource coordination.
Quality & Productivity:
- Ensure team is trained and equipped to meet quality and productivity standards.
- Enforce 5S and standard work practices to sustain an organized, efficient workplace.
- Support cross-training initiatives to build a flexible and resilient team.
- Actively track KPIs and use data to drive performance improvements.
- Resolve quality, productivity, and process issues in collaboration with support teams.
