Summary
Serve as the strategic partner and liaison between Tier One Property Owners and internal Oncor Business Units such as Right of Way, Power Management and Distribution System, Transmission and Distribution Operations, Construction Management, Claims, Customer Relations, and Regulatory. Meaningfully engage with landowners to seek out and develop strong relationships and become a trusted advisor to keep property owners informed of construction plans and activities. Leverage relationships to aid in transactional business between Oncor and property owners to support construction and operations objectives. Address and assist property owners and Oncor with operational information, education, easement acquisition, property damages and repairs, and other business. Exhibit professionalism through communication and stakeholder engagement.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with Owners and Entities who control significant amounts of real property within a specific Region of Oncor’s service territory where Oncor maintains or is likely to acquire certain property rights to effectively maintain the grid and deliver electricity to customers
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of landowner interactions, agreements, and issues to track history and support future decisions
- Proactively engage with these accounts as a strategic partner, developing relationships at the right level in order to make an impact. (Property Owners, Leaseholders, Operators, Etc.)
- Participates in Public Meetings and Community Engagement Efforts
- Conduct a proactive, continuing dialogue with an assigned group of property owners and customers regarding significant business strategies, plans and activities including but not limited to, operations, construction, relocation, expansion and maintenance activities, planned outages and vegetation management
- Proactively communicate with an assigned group of Property Owners and Customers during system events and coordinate with internal partners to bring attention to critical public safety issues during these events
- Develop and maintain effective internal relationships and proactively communicate in order to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction as well as Oncor business objectives
- Proactively, work to understand the operational needs and impacts to Property Owners
- Prioritize and manage involvement in selected trade organizations, to achieve Oncor business objectives while ensuring the company is a good community partner
- Enthusiastically and knowledgeably conveys Oncor brand messages and improves Oncor brand awareness
- Enthusiastically and knowledgably educate both internal and external stakeholders about Oncor operations and construction activities and initiatives
- Utilize the key relationships with leaders in the ranching, oil and gas, and farming community in order to advocate important Company positions and initiatives
- Provide after hours and weekend accessibility for your Key Property Owners
- Stay current on company and industry news, initiatives and emerging events to be an effective advocate for Oncor and advisor and partner to assigned accounts
- Participate in Construction Related Meetings impacting Key Managed Relationships
- Coordinate access and make notifications around Engineering and Construction field activities
- Problem Solving to address landowner concerns, disputes, and misunderstandings
- Align project timelines and landowner communications
- Anticipate high-risk properties or landowners and develop mitigation plans in advance
- Performs all essential functions and aspects of the job including any other specific job requirements
- Failure to maintain and develop strong relationships with large landowners will have direct impacts to Oncor’s business objectives such as delays in construction and failure to meet Regulatory project timelines, legal challenges, increased acquisition costs, and damage to Oncor’s public image
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
- College undergraduate degree is encouraged to apply
- 5 plus years of utility or property management experience is required, 10 plus years utility or property management experience is strongly encouraged to apply
