Welcoming guests, checking them in, and directing them to the appropriate person or office.  Handling phone calls, taking messages, and transferring calls to the correct extension.  Receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and deliveries.   Ensuring the reception area is clean, organized, and presentable.  Answering questions and providing basic information to visitors and callers.
