About the Role
The Head of Estimating will oversee all aspects of cost estimation for modular containment system installations. This role requires deep expertise in construction estimating, preferably from a General Contractor or Cost Consultant background, with a strong understanding of data center infrastructure, MEP systems, and modular construction. The ideal candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, capable of building estimating processes, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with design, engineering, and operations teams.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the development of detailed cost estimates for modular hot aisle containment systems, structural ceiling and liquid cooling solutions from concept through final bid.
- Analyze architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings to identify scope, risks, and cost impacts.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to gather pricing, labor rates, and material costs.
- Prepares and owns bid packages, RFP responses, and value engineering proposals.
- Develop and maintain historical cost databases and benchmarking tools.
- Support contract negotiations and procurement strategies.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior estimators and project engineers.
- Interface with clients, GC partners, and consultants to ensure alignment on scope and pricing.
- Continuously improve estimating tools, templates, and workflows.
Additional Expectations
- Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in data centers, modular systems, or MEP-heavy environments.
- Proven background with a General Contractor or Cost Consulting firm.
- Strong understanding of modular construction, containment systems, and data center design.
- PMP, LEED, or similar certifications are a plus.
