Pay $35.20 - $37.00 an hour

The Senior LPN is responsible for assisting the Director of Health and Rehabilitation in ensuring provision of quality care to the individuals. This position will assist with training of individuals, staff and nurses regarding agency policy and procedures, as well as, medical issues. 

Will provide assistance in programs when a nurse is unavailable or when the needs of the individuals have changed. Additionally, will assist in quality checks throughout the agency to maintain the standards that we uphold, as well as, meet regulatory policy and procedures.

Core Responsibilities 

• Provide intermittent coverage at sites with a nursing need.
• Troubleshoot at sites with identified medical/procedural concerns.
• Assist with initial AMAP certifications.
• At the direction of the Director of Health and Rehabilitation provides staff trainings.
• Quality checks at all sites –med cupboard checks, check formularies, check staff Mantoux’s/med certifications, check MARs, chart checks.
• Assist with monthly notes at sites without LPN coverage.
• Assist with administration of staff Mantoux’s.
• Assist with training all new nurses (LPN and RN).
• Adhere to mandatory reporting requirements and HIPPA laws.
• Mentor new LPNs (side-by-side) to ensure thoroughness of training; improve understanding of rules/regulations/policies/procedures.
• Assist with other tasks as identified.

Qualifications

• A.A.S. Degree or High School plus Specialized Trade Certificate.
• Valid NYS Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse and current NYS Registration Certificate.
• 3 – 5 years of experience as LPN in developmental disabilities.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience and ability to mentor. 
• Travel is required.  Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License
