Position Summary:

 

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations associated with the Shipping, Receiving, Transportation, and Warehousing/Storage of all Timken parts (finished goods, raw material, and piece part details). The Logistics Supervisor provides leadership and direction to employees, including resource allocation, time keeping, coaching, mentoring, and facilitating the talent management process to create a high performing team

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate supply of direct and indirect materials in alignment with customer demand and forecast.
  • Expedite and prioritize component supply for production to meet customer line downs.
  • Ensure adequate workflow of direct and indirect materials from the warehouse to production lines to maintain a high level of operational efficiency.
  • Maintain warehouse inventory accuracy and cycle count reporting.
  • Collaborate with corporate purchasing, supply planning, and customer service.
  • Collaborate with 3PL providers and indirect material vendors.
  • Responsible for supervising a team of 10-15 warehousing and purchasing associates.
  • Ensure TMOS operational imperatives of Safety, Quality, and Delivery are executed every hour, every shift, and every day.
  • Develop strong performers and mitigate bottom performers through performance evaluations and performance improvement/development plans.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Supervisory experience desired.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing; operations management, production control and quality control.
  • Skills in supervision of personnel and group facilitation.
  • 2 year degree (Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, etc.)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 4 Year Degree (Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, etc.)
