Summary:
The Counter Sales Representative plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating value for those we serve by servicing our counter customers. The Counter Sales Representative position is responsible for accurately and efficiently picking orders for the counter. This position works independently to ensure the preparation, delivery, receipt and coordination of all customer orders at the counter while delivering excellent customer service. This individual is a self starter who exemplifies the company culture by setting an example for their co-workers. The Counter Sales Representative promotes our culture, our 5 P’s and creating value for those we serve.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Service the business and industrial establishment customer as well as walk-in customer by providing projects or information on products or services
- Pick and prepare customer pipe and wire in an efficient and accurate manner
- Picks customer orders using an RF gun, motorized cart and/or forklift
- Build and maintain customer relationships
- Provide project demonstrations to qualified customers on request
- Maintain counter area, displays and stock levels in an orderly fashion
- Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own vendor’s production and delivery schedule
- Emphasize salable features, quote prices and credit terms, prepare sales orders for orders obtained
- Encourage creativity, risk-taking, and constant improvements
- Work side-by-side with the inside sales, and distribution teams to ensure quality customer service
- Drive for continuous improvement

Job Requirements/Specifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of a two year degree preferred
- Previous sales experience preferred
- Electrical product knowledge is preferred
- Ability to lift 70 lbs required; lift 100 lbs at times
- Ability to use fork lift equipment required
- Demonstrated computer skills
- Ability to work with Excel documents
- Knowledge of Eclipse and RF Scan is preferred

- Consistently standing, walking, lifting, carrying, working with hands & fingers, talking, hearing, vision acuity-near, works with others, customer contact, and works indoors
- Frequently pushing, bending at the waist, twisting upper body, kneeling, reaching, vision acuity-far, field of vision, and color vision
- Sometimes sitting, climbing, balancing, crouching, crawling, depth perception, vision adjustment, humid, noise, vibration, confined area, high places, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards
- Occasionally driving, works alone, temperature changes, and works outdoors
