Description
The Material Handler loads, unloads, and moves material to ensure production flow. Reads work order and/or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload products from trailers using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment.
- Store the products in proper places in warehouse.
- Transport products to and from warehouse storage and production.
- Deliver products to various areas in safely and timely manner.
- Move and load hazardous wastes under direction of supervisor.
- Clean work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood, and plastic.
- Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure safe and positive work atmosphere.
- Maintain forklift equipment by troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance.
- Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following stock control instructions.
- Checking loads are secure stacking empty pallets performing daily equipment checks.
- Helps with production as needed.
- Will be required to perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in using a forklift in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
