Senior Accountant bei MSG Sports, LLC

Who are we hiring?

This role is primarily responsible for the accounting operations of MSG Sports including monthly financial close processes, monitoring of financial results to facilitate financial analysis, effective operation and monitoring of the Company’s Internal Control Over Financial Reporting with respect to MSG Sports and facilitation of the external audit process.

What will you do?

· Responsible for all forms of compensation including but not limited to bonus, severance, and 401K discretionary accounting and associated reconciliations

· Review payroll journals while investigating and correcting items costed incorrectly

· Support Finance with journalizing, reconciling and reporting team-related compensation and benefits

· Accounting responsibilities related to executive fringe benefits (i.e. executive driver and aviation) and disclosing information to legal for the company’s annual proxy

· Provide timely and detailed monthly/quarterly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss account analysis as assigned, including substantiation of account balances, and recommend adjusting journal entries, where needed. Most schedules are used for internal, external, and tax purposes

· Work with Benefits, Payroll, and AP to assist in timely payments of benefits and payroll taxes

· Support Finance and External Reporting in completion of special projects in an accurate and timely manner, as assigned

What do you need to succeed?

· BS or BA Accounting/Finance

· Minimum three years related experience in a fast-paced large company environment

· Strong understanding of monthly closing processes

· Heavy exposure financial statements, account analysis and reconciliations

· Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and challenging environment

· Meaningful participation in a team environment

· Ability to interact with cross functional groups

· Clear writing and communication skills with peers and management

· Ability to be flexible, work under pressure and meet deadlines, work within a team environment and company culture, and willingness to work overtime as needed

· Self-motivated, self-starter, committed, and ability to manage many projects to achieve objectives

· Ability to evaluate processes and recommend/implement more efficient practices and procedures

· Knowledge of U.S. GAAP rules related to profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, and general accounting and finance issues to critically perform account analysis, and co-ordinate financial activities within Group and company-wide, as needed
