Primary Objectives of Position: 

This position is designed for a college student looking for a hands-on experience to learn more about Trans Ova Genetics and the advanced reproduction technologies that we have to offer. We are looking for an individual who is motivated and wants to follow a career path in agricultural reproduction. 

Major Areas of Accountability:  

  • Hands-on project on a desirable topic agreed upon with supervisor. 
  • Assist the Professional Services Veterinarian team with cattle handling on farm, prepare equipment for IVF procedures, and interact with clients. 
  • Assist the Professional Services Embryologist team with oocyte searching and processing, embryo grading, freezing, and embryo transfers. 
  • Assist the Shipping team with checking in semen and embryos, tracking inventory and preparing shipments. 
  • Assist the IVF lab with embryo freezing preparation, inventory and effectively learn how to use relevant lab equipment to complete other tasks such as fertilization, stripping, moving embryos, and loading embryos on practice donors. 
  • Assist the Sexed Semen Lab with preparing bulls for reverse sorting, understanding the technology and differentiating between X and Y cells. 
  • Assist the Client Service team with scheduling donors for collection, generating IVF schedules embryo releases, communicating results, and shipping FSH. 
  • Interact with Trans Ova personnel in other departments of interest   

Qualifications: 

  • Strong dairy background with hands on experience working with dairy cows 
  • Pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Animal Science or similar education 
  • Desire to work in the Advanced Reproduction Industry upon graduation 
  • Must possess strong communication and people skills 
  • Willingness to learn and develop both personally and professionally 
  • Computer skills are required
