The School District of Clayton is seeking a College and Career Counselor for Clayton High School. The high school serves approximately 800 students, offering a strong and diverse academic program. The District is seeking an experienced College and Career Counselor to administer all aspects of the college search and admissions process.
The successful candidate will:
- Be extremely knowledgeable about colleges and universities, the college admissions process, trends, procedures, and testing
- Have the experience and knowledge to successfully advise and support juniors and seniors and their families as they go through the college search and admissions process
- Have mutually beneficial relationships with college admissions staff around the United States
- Serve as a liaison with college admissions offices throughout the year
- Have exceptional public speaking skills
- Have strong writing skills and understanding of writing college recommendation letters
- Versatility to work with the entire counseling team
- Ability to work on office projects (ie: student ambassadors, standardized testing, etc)
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, superior organizational and time management skills, and a sound knowledge base in college advising. Tentative Hiring Timeline:
- Current posting closes on 11/1/2025.
- Interviews will be conducted around October 1, 2025.
- This position is expected to begin on or around November 3, 2025, and end on or around February 12, 2026.
Education: A Masters in Education, Counseling, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Certification: Missouri Counseling Certification is preferred.
Experience: Demonstrated experience and skill in college and career advising is required.
Compensation: $175/Day.
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package.
FLSA Status: Exempt, Professional Exemption-Teacher.
Work Calendar: 192 day calendar.
