As the Temporary RN Unit Manager, you’ll oversee nursing services and social programming for your assigned unit, ensuring top-tier care delivery across all shifts. This leadership role includes supervision of nursing staff, coordination with interdisciplinary teams, care planning, and documentation — all while fostering a respectful and collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

RN Unit Manager Responsibilties:

  • Lead the development and execution of individualized nursing care plans

  • Coordinate interdisciplinary goals and approaches for resident health

  • Oversee staffing, performance management, and scheduling of clinical staff

  • Ensure your unit meets high standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization

  • Attend required training sessions and meetings

  • Recognize and encourage staff achievements and engagement

  • Contribute to ideas that enhance quality of care and operational excellence

Qualifications

RN Unit Manager Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in New York State (or applicable state of employment)

  • Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience, with at least one (1) year in a leadership role

  • Current BLS/CPR certification

  • Experience or interest in geriatrics preferred

  • Experience with dementia care is preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to lead with professionalism, empathy, and collaboration

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
