Software Engineer

Cargas is hiring a Software Engineer to join the team behind Cargas Energy, our proprietary software serving the fuel delivery and HVAC service industries. This is a unique opportunity to work on a product that we own and continuously evolve through close collaboration across our internal teams and customer community. You�ll help maintain and build new features, improve performance, and contribute to a solution that plays a central role in our business and delivers real value to our customers.

Please note: This position is based in Lancaster, PA, and requires regular in-person collaboration. While we offer a flexible work environment, we are not considering fully remote candidates or applicants located outside of commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features and functionality to support business processes, meet customer needs, and maintain a competitive product.
• Build and maintain components for our web and mobile applications, including user interfaces, web services, and database structures.
• Develop integrations with third-party software and hardware systems.
• Collaborate with support and QA teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure product quality, performance, and reliability.
• Partner with Product Managers to provide technical guidance and build estimates.
• Create and maintain documentation for internal and external technical users.
• Participate fully in the software design lifecycle.

Your Background

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bachelor�s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Comfortable troubleshooting issues and collaborating with stakeholders.

• Experience with development tools and frameworks such as SQL Server, C#, Angular.js, React, and Git.
• Familiarity with relational databases, .NET, and modern web technologies.
• Developing software from written specifications.
• Exposure to the fuel delivery industry.
