Wildlife Pest Control Technician bei Modern Pest Services

To support the needs of our community, Modern Pest is seeking a Special Operations Service Professional to specialize in wildlife pest control in the Portland, Maine area. This position will be responsible for providing nuisance wildlife exclusion, trapping, and removal, as well as likely remediation services once the animal has been properly excluded.  In addition, this position may assist Modern with our bed bug heat remediation work. 

Successful candidates may have basic knowledge of pest control, basic home construction and framing, as well as the carpentry skills necessary to perform basic home repair projects as required by the exclusion work. We seek applicants who are comfortable working from a ladder, and/or environments requiring proper fall protection equipment. 

Since this work varies by each call, we seek candidates with a proven ability to soundly problem solve independently. This position will work remotely throughout our service area.  This is an ideal position for someone who likes to work outside, has an interest in wildlife, and has the ability to achieve and maintain the necessary licenses to perform this work. 

Job Type: Full-time, year-round 

Schedule:  Monday – Friday position, with some weekend days as needed. 

Work Location:  Based out of our Portland, ME branch.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 

• This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent. 

• Must possess a valid driver’s license. 

• The ability to learn practical and technical aspects of this position, including functions, terminology, work procedures, regulations and company policies.  While no pest and/or wildlife management experience necessary, the ability to obtain the appropriate state license(s) is essential. 

• Strong oral and written communication skills, dependability, organization skills, honesty, ability to make sound decisions, a positive attitude, ability to produce detailed and quality work, and excellent work ethic are also expected. 

• Company paid Background, Driver Check, and Pre-Employment Screening required.
