The Division of Solid Organ Transplant at the University of Rochester seeks a full-time member to join the medical education and training program at the Instructor level in the subspeciality of transplant surgery for a two year term. This fellowship is accredited by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS). The objective of our transplant surgery fellowship training program is to develop proficiency in the surgical and medical management of patients with end-stage organ diseases amenable to transplantation. This objective will be achieved through a 24 month structured program for the study and treatment of these diseases. Transplantation is a multidisciplinary team effort. Our Fellow will have the opportunity to work with and learn from our key team members including surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, infectious disease specialists, pharmacists, dietitians, social workers, APPs and RNs. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in the research activities of the division. Upon completion of the 2 year fellowship the graduate should be able to competitively be considered for an attending level position at a transplant program in the United States or their home country. The program will be based at Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Candidates must have completed medical school receiving an MD or equivalent and completed a full surgical training residency program, have passed standardized proficiency testing. Must be eligible for a full NYS medical license or NYS limited permit.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
