Job Description Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead the transformation of our safety culture and systems. This individual will drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of robust safety programs that go beyond compliance - focusing on leadership behaviors, employee engagement, and risk prevention. This role plays a key part in building a proactive, high-performance safety culture that delivers measurable improvements in Safety KPIs and regulatory compliance.The EHS Manager will work closely with the Plant Management Teams of our Production and Packaging Plants and Human Resources.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $170,000-$200,00 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Job Description:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead EHS Strategy Development and Execution: Develop and implement a long-term EHS roadmap aligned with company objectives to shift to a culture of ownership and prevention.
- Establish and Embed Safety Systems/Program: Design and implement a sustainable safety system/program (KPI management, KPI deployment, training library).
- Drive Safety Culture Transformation: Coach and influence leaders at all levels to become visible safety champions. Facilitate safety leadership training, employee engagement initiatives, and cultural diagnostics.
- Improve EHS KPIs and Risk Reduction: Analyze leading and lagging indicators to identify trends and eliminate root causes. Drive targeted interventions to reduce TRI and RPN, lost time, severity, and environmental incidents.
- Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Prepare and lead audits, maintain permits, and manage external relationships with regulatory bodies.
- Emergency Response and Incident Management: Own site emergency preparedness plans, conduct drills, and lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with all See’s leadership team members and business units. All See’s staff must be committed to the company’s core principles and workplace values, including a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of TPM and Lean Manufacturing practices with EH&S Pillar required.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in EHS leadership roles within manufacturing, food, or CPG industries Food industry experience preferred.
- Proven experience leading cultural change and embedding proactive safety systems.
- Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations and standards.
- Experience with behavioral safety programs, training, risk assessments, and audits.
- Strong leadership, influence, and coaching capabilities at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to effectively work with and generate positive outcomes with employees at all levels of a diverse workforce.
- Ability to maintain highest levels of judgement, integrity and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely with all employees at all levels in both written and oral communications.
- Excellent problem solving skills, inherent intellectual curiosity and ability to work constructively with others.
- Physical ability to handle the essential functions of the job including standing, walking, talking for prolonged periods of time; occasional periods of twisting, bending, stooping; frequent lifting and moving up to 20 pounds.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, in addition to a full range of generous medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
