Security Host

Location: The Mint Casino – Reno, NV

Reports to: Security Supervisor / Security Manager

Position Summary

The Security Host is responsible for providing a safe and welcoming environment for all guests and team members at The Mint Casino. This role combines guest service with safety and compliance by monitoring the casino floor, enforcing policies, and responding to incidents in a professional and approachable manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests while maintaining a visible and professional presence throughout the casino.

• Patrol gaming areas, entrances, and surrounding property to ensure safety and security.

• Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with age requirements for gaming and alcohol service.

• Respond promptly and calmly to disturbances, suspicious activity, or emergencies.

• Provide assistance to guests, including escorts, directions, or support during incidents.

• Document and complete accurate reports of security activity and incidents.

• Enforce state regulations, gaming laws, and company policies.

• Assist with casino operations as needed, including jackpot verifications, cash escorts, and team member safety.

• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous security, hospitality, or guest service experience preferred.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to de-escalate conflicts.

• Professional appearance and demeanor required.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Registration (Sheriff’s Card).

• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. if required.

• Quick response capability for emergency situations.
