IT Security Engineer

The IT Security Engineer will serve as tier III support for the network operations groups and work closely with all IT groups.  This role will continue to maintain systems, users, and technology, however, will have a 75% security focus and 25% IT operations focus.

  • You will enforce both physical and electronic controls as it relates to users and their passwords, access to systems, access to networks, etc.  The role will be responsible for identifying, monitoring, and reporting of all security events to Management.
  • In addition, focus on building technical security plans, road maps, and systems to ensure all company systems and assets are secure, online, and up to date. 
  • Serve inside the network and IT operations group and act as the primary security arm.  This includes the monitoring of systems, users, data, and processes to accomplish least privilege, system patching standards, system security standards, and participation in incident response. 
  • The role will play a key part in participating in yearly, quarterly, and ad hoc audit activities. 
  • A high level of focus of this role will be documenting the Prisma security system and its components.   

Qualifications


The minimum qualifications of the role include:

  • (5+) years of Active Directory experience,
  • (4+) years of endpoint protection experience and techniques,
  • (5+) years of mastery of operating system experience in mixed environments including Windows, Linux, and Mac. 
  • Knowledge of networking, networking security, VLANs, demilitarization techniques, intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, and other roles will be critical to the role. 
  • Role will demonstrate competency in penetration testing, knowledge of logging, understanding/mastery of systems designed to detect, respond, and mitigate security events.
  • Candidates will typically possess a bachelor’s in computer science, MIS, Cybersecurity, or equivalent industry experience.
