About the Department
Bi-Weekly Salary: Level I $3,092.05 - $3,695.29; Level II $3,416.38 - $4,082.89
Examination Schedule:
- Written Exam - qualified candidates will be notified of the written examination date 5 days prior to the examination
Applicants must attain at least 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
Level I:
OR
Completion an accredited trade or vocational school training program in programming.
OR
One (1) year of technical experience in an information systems environment.
OR
Completion of an accredited trade or vocational school training program in programming AND two (2) year of full-time paid experience programming in an information systems environment.
OR
Three (3) years of full-time paid experience programming in an information systems environment.
OR
One (1) year as a Systems Analyst I in the Kern County classification system.
Additional Requirements Both Levels:
Valid California Class "C" Driver's License is required at the time of appointment.

Minimum Qualifications
Admittance to the examination will require a valid government issued photograph identification. Applicants who are unable to present proper identification must make arrangements with the Human Resources Division prior to the test date.
A background check may be conducted for this classification.
Following an offer of employment, you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.
This examination will establish an eligible list from which immediate appointment(s) will be made at the Kern County Treasure and Tax Collector. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months, unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission.
