Grounds person - Duntroon bei Social Infrastructure and Citizen Services

We currently have opportunities for entry - level, self-motivated, full time, reliable Grounds people in Canberra.

These full-time positions are part of the team responsible for the operational day to day delivery of the Land Management services. These roles offer a great work life balance with a generous roster consisting of Monday to Thursday 0700-1530 and Fridays 0700-1300. 

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:

• Ensuring all work completed is to the standard required of the contract

• Ensure all equipment is maintained and is safe working order

• Operate all equipment/machinery in a safe manner

• Ensure PPE is used for required tasking

• General tasking may include, however is not limited to the following: 

  • Mowing

  • Brush cutting

  • Edging

  • Pruning

  • General gardening

  • Green waste clearing and removal

  • Weed, Pest & Disease control

• Level 3 and Level 4 roles available 

  • Level 4 based at Duntroon - requires a qualification or more than 3+ years’ experience

ABOUT YOU:

• Preferred demonstrable experience in grounds maintenance and experience in operating grounds maintenance equipment

• Able to perform inherent physical requirements of the role

• Suitability for Defence security clearance (Australian citizenship mandatory)

• Vehicle and valid Open Class Drivers Licence

• Medium Rigid Truck Licence (Preferred)

• Chainsaw Operators Licence or Certificate (preferred) 

• ChemCert Certificate (preferred)

• Asbestos Awareness Certificate (preferred)
