In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.

We're looking for a Clinical Incident Officer who thrives on uncovering the why behind clinical incidents—someone who’s confident in leading investigations and is driven by a commitment to safety, learning, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
As a Clinical Incident Manager, you’ll lead thorough and timely investigations into clinical incidents, ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and relevant standards. Your work will directly support better outcomes for patients and teams alike.
You’ll collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, providing education, feedback, and coaching to support a culture of safety, accountability, and learning.
Note: This role may involve working in sensitive, high-security, or correctional environments in line with Departmental security protocols.
What You’ll Bring
Minimum 2 years' experience in incident, complaint, or performance management
Proven background in clinical settings such as emergency, ICU, medical/surgical, or aged care
Strong skills in incident investigation, compliance, or clinical risk management
Ability to conduct thorough, objective, and professional investigations
Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
High levels of professionalism, integrity, and discretion
AHPRA Registered Health Practitioner (recent clinical practice highly desirable)
Qualifications in Incident Investigation Management (desirable)
