PUBLIC AREA SUPERVISOR – The Sundays 

Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced and detail-focused Public Area Supervisor to oversee the cleanliness and presentation of public spaces at The Sundays, our newest luxury boutique hotel. As a leader in the Housekeeping team, you will use your hands-on experience and organisational skills to maintain the exceptionally high standards that define this exclusive property.

Your Role

As the Public Area Supervisor at The Sundays Hotel, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall presentation of all guest-facing areas. Working in close coordination with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and the Front Office teams, you will play a key role in upholding the refined experience expected by our guests.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

• Supervise the daily cleaning and upkeep of all public areas including lobby spaces, poolside, lift areas, and guest corridors
• Liaise with other departments to prioritise and report on cleanliness and maintenance needs
• Coordinate your own roster based on guest occupancy and hotel activity
• Monitor cleanliness standards and conduct inspections
• Maintain accurate records and daily task reporting
• Uphold and enforce safe work practices and hygiene protocols
• Motivate and support the team in a high-end hospitality environment

What We’re Looking For

You’re a polished, hands-on supervisor with a high level of initiative and an unwavering commitment to presentation and detail. You understand luxury guest expectations and are confident managing priorities independently.

To Be Successful, You Will Need:

• Open QLD Driver Licence (Essential)
• Previous experience in housekeeping or public area roles within hotels or resorts (Essential)
• Previous supervisory experience (Essential)
• An exceptional eye for detail and a proactive work ethic
• A positive, guest-focused attitude with strong communication skills
• Physically fit – the role is active and hands-on

• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
