Position Duties
Sheboygan County is seeking female Correctional Officers to serve in both our women’s and men’s facilities. Female officers are essential to maintaining the safety, dignity, and security of female inmates, while also contributing to the overall safety and operations across all correctional facilities. Duties include but are not limited to:
Supervise and search female inmates as required by facility policy.
Work within both female and male inmate housing units to maintain order and security.
Conduct rounds, monitor activity, and enforce facility rules.
Assist with booking, housing assignments, meals, supplies, and inmate work details.
Escort and transport inmates to court, medical, and other appointments.
Write accurate reports and provide testimony as needed.
Respond professionally and effectively in emergency situations.
Support rehabilitation and program initiatives under supervisory direction.
Minimum Qualifications
Female applicants only (required for searches/supervision of female inmates).
High school diploma or equivalent required
Clear communication, professionalism, and ability to stay calm under pressure.
DOJ Jail Officer certification (preferred, or training provided).
