About GPTZero
GPTZero is on a mission to restore trust and transparency on the internet. As the leading AI detection platform, we empower educators, students, journalists, marketers, and writers to navigate the evolving landscape of AI-generated content. With millions of users and institutions relying on us, we’re building a category-defining company at the intersection of AI and information integrity.
Our team comes from high-performing engineering cultures, including Uber, Meta, Perplexity, Amazon, Affirm, and leading AI research labs, including Princeton, Caltech, MILA, and Vector.
About this role
In this role, you will report directly to the CEO, and partner with the leadership team to enable them to execute on critical initiatives. You’ll be exposed to everything: product, sales, hiring, investor relations, pricing models, customer feedback, and more. You’ll act as a force multiplier for the co-founders, allowing them to leverage their time for projects with maximum impact.
What you’ll do
You will be directly responsible for:
Owning the CEO’s calendar, making sure he is focused on the highest-leverage use of his time and stepping in when needed
Providing fast-turnaround on ad hoc data analysis of key user/financial metrics (if you know SQL that’s good, if you want to learn SQL that’s great)
Recruiting top-tier talent that aligns with our culture of speed and ownership
Working with VP of Partnerships on sales outreach and building pipeline from ground up
Coordinating cross-functional initiatives across growth/engineering/design/ML teams
Reaching out and coordinating news coverage of GPTZero (e.g., https://observer.com/2025/08/gptzero-ai-writing/)
Organizing and executing events, including onsites, offsites, and marketing. This could range from intern laser-tag to trade shows with budgets of $50k+
Drafting investor reporting, including contributing to investor and board presentations
Making sure the office plants don’t die
What makes you a good fit
A doer—you execute fast, learn on the fly, and thrive in ambiguity
Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Experience in banking, consulting, startups, or high-velocity environments where you had to figure things out fast
Technically savvy and eager to lean on new technologies to automate and scale processes
Maybe you’re the kind of person who appreciated what a bulge bracket or Big 3 taught you, but realized that’s not the path for you, or maybe you want to dive into startups head-first
“No job is too small” attitude
Extremely high standards of personal integrity
Comfortable disagreeing with senior executives and working through productive conflict
Collaborative mindset with the ability to prioritize other stakeholders’ needs over your own
Persistence
