Role:
The primary purpose of this full-time position is to assist Old Hickory Credit Union to deliver on our mission of MAKING A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN OUR NEIGHBORS' LIVES. To achieve this mission, the position must deliver high quality service to both internal and external members. A key element in this is to assist the Mortgage Loan Originator, Loan Processor/Closer and members with mortgage loan applications; process loan applications and prepare all necessary loan documents. This employee will also perform the servicing activities from mortgage insurance processing to escrow letters, assisting with annual escrow and assist with general contact regarding mortgage issues for members.
Work Location: Nashville, Tennessee (this is not a remote position)
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- 50% – Prepare letters, forms, checks, and other documents used for collection, disbursing, and recording mortgage principal, interest, and escrow account payments. Process insurance documentation, complete monthly HELOC reviews, answer member calls coming into the mortgage department. Assist with scanning documentation, filing and annual escrow analysis. Build mortgages to be closed in credit union software. Perform required post-closing/funding of closed mortgage files.
- 25% – Examine documents such as deeds, assignments, and mortgages, to ensure compliance with escrow instructions, credit union policy, and legal requirements. Will cross-train in both mortgage origination, processing and closing. Will be responsible for filling one of these position's duties when one of the employees are out of the office. Will be required to obtain an NMLS Originator # to legally originate mortgage loans.
- 10% – Type notices to government, specifying changes to loan documents, such as discharge of mortgage. Will be responsible for preparing mortgage releases and sending those out.
- 5% – Order property insurance policies to ensure protection against loss on mortgaged property. Also will maintenance each mortgage with insurance updates as they come into the office.
- 5% – Answer member phone calls, calls from insurance companies and other title companies.
- 5% – Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Previous real estate or mortgage processing experience strongly preferred
- Able to pass a background check and a drug screen
- Candidate must successfully pass an employment credit check. Any current delinquencies or bankruptcies still showing on the credit report may result in failure of the check. The review may include, but is not limited to, past due items, late payments, unpaid charge-offs, collections (non-medical), judgments, bankruptcies, repossessions, and foreclosures.
