Position Duties
The Town of Marana is seeking a Maintenance Associate III position to work in the Public Works Department with the Street Maintenance Division. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working in a fast-paced environment. The Public Works Department provides services that are vital to our community’s health, safety and comfort.
Normal Business Hours: 6:00 – 4:30 4 days a week with mandatory rotating on-call

Expected Hiring Range: $20.65/hour - $25.30/hour
- Placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget.
Salary Range: $20.65/hour - $29.94/hour
Minimum Qualifications
- Performs routine skilled maintenance and/or landscaping tasks; uses a variety of hand and power tools; inspects, cleans, and performs routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment; identifies and reports mechanical problems.
- Provides service to internal and external customers.
- Performs work duties and operates a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures
- Utilizes asset management software to track and manage work orders. Call, clear, and document Blue Stake.
- Removes and replaces concrete by operating light equipment; cutting and breaking out damaged concrete, setting forms and prepares subgrade, pouring and finishing concrete
- Removes and replaces asphalt; cuts asphalt, prepares subgrade, installs new asphalt, crack seals roads.
- Sets up traffic control devices.
Other Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training.
- Over three (3) years of street construction/maintenance experience or closely related field.
- Valid Arizona Driver License.
- Valid Class B CDL w/Tanker Endorsement or must obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Subject to random testing per DOT (FMCSA) requirements.
- Must complete a pre-employment physical including audiogram and pass a 50-pound lift test.
- Complete both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check.
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Arizona Class B CDL w/Tanker Endorsement plus over five (5) years of street construction/maintenance experience.
- Experience working in a Municipality/Government setting.
