After School Program Coordinator

Position Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically between 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM; schedule may vary slightly based on Club needs.

Compensation: $24 - $27, depending on experience

For nearly 70 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue has been dedicated to providing safe spaces for Bellevue’s youth outside of school hours. We focus on serving neighborhoods with the greatest need, ensuring equitable access to life-enhancing programs centered on academics, health, and leadership. Our mission is to empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.

Project Learn is BGCB’s signature after-school initiative designed to support youth academically and socially in a caring, structured environment. Through tutoring, computer lab access, arts, recreation, and mentorship, we provide young people with a safe and vibrant space to learn, play, and thrive after school.

We're seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Program Coordinator who thrives in youth-focused environments and can balance high energy and creativity with professionalism, maturity, and accountability. This role is vital to our Club operations and reports to a Site Director.


BGCB is a dynamic organization that works to meet the fluctuating needs of youth and the community. Because of this, we seek flexible individuals who are comfortable in environments where responsibilities and locations may change.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Deliver high-quality after-school programming for school-age youth, aligned with BGCB’s mission and the goals of Project Learn.
  • Oversee program planning, development, and implementation across core areas (e.g., academics, recreation, arts & crafts, and physical education).
  • Supervise and support staff and volunteers, providing guidance, structure, and mentorship.
  • Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas and activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in the program area(s).
  • Foster positive behavior and engagement among youth while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, and community partners to ensure youth success.
  • Lead afternoon group programming and maintain consistent youth interaction.
  • Continuously evaluate Club programs to ensure they meet member needs and address their gender and cultural diversity.
  • Manage Clubhouse program and activity expenses within the approved budget.
  • Occasionally, support different Club sites to meet staffing needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
  • May be required to drive the Club van periodically.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A four-year degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent, is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization, planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities.
  • Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
  • Collaborative approach and team-oriented mindset.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must pass a National Background Check and Driving Record Check.
