Description

 

The Project Superintendent is responsible for overseeing complex construction projects on-site, managing multiple teams and subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining project schedules, and delivering quality results aligned with project specifications.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct all on-site construction activities, ensuring efficient operation of crews, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Manage and adjust project schedules to meet deadlines, coordinating resources for optimal productivity.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical documents to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Oversee resource utilization, including labor, equipment, and materials, to reduce waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe and clean job site, enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular inspections.
  • Plan site logistics including access routes, storage, and temporary facilities.
  • Serve as primary on-site contact, facilitating communication among project managers, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Lead site meetings, resolve conflicts, and address issues to ensure smooth project flow.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and enforce compliance with building codes and industry standards.
  • Maintain daily logs, document site activities, and monitor subcontractor performance.
  • Manage procurement processes, verify material deliveries, and assist with budget control.
  • Participate in pre-construction planning, offering input on scheduling and constructability.
  • Oversee project close-out activities, ensuring completion and documentation.
  • Enforce OSHA safety standards, conduct safety training, and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Manage incident reporting, hazard assessments, PPE compliance, and emergency readiness.
  • Coordinate and optimize scheduling using software tools, balancing project milestones with resource availability.
Requirements
  • 7–10 years managing commercial or multifamily construction projects with proven leadership preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities 

Education: Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other related field preferred, but not required.  


Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending stooping and reaching in all directions, must be able to work in all weather conditions, will be working on uneven surfaces, frequent climbing of ladders and stairs. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
