Salary Range: $150,000-$193,768

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Trade Compliance is responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational aspects of the company's trade function.  This role includes ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and improving overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The Senior Manager will lead a team, work closely with cross-functional departments, and develop strategies to support the company’s growth and operational goals.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, international business or a related field.  Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in Trade Compliance leadership.
  • Licensed Custom Broker Certification required.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of global trade compliance, logistics operations and supply chain management.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategies that driver operational excellence and cost savings.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management software, programs and databases such as Excel, Word, Microsoft X,  SAP, Oracle, TMS and Quality Management systems.
  • Experience leading, motivating and developing a strong team of professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and through teams with all levels of the workforce.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement trade strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and support global operations.
  • Trade Compliance:   Ensure compliance with all international trade laws and regulations, including import/export requirements, customs regulations, and trade agreements. Develop policies and procedures to mitigate risks associated with global trade.
  • Vendor and Carrier Management:  Manage relationships with freight forwarders and customs brokers. Negotiate contracts and service agreements to achieve the best value and performance. Lead Quarterly Business Reviews with Brokers and Freight Forwarders.
  • Cost Management:  Monitor and control international logistics and trade-related costs, implementing cost-saving initiatives and strategies to achieve financial targets.
  • Performance Metrics:   Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of international logistics and trade operations. Use data-driven insights to make improvements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of  trade professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Risk Management:  Identify and manage risks related to international logistics and trade, including supply chain disruptions, compliance issues, and geopolitical factors. Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
  • Technology Integration: Evaluate and implement trade management technologies and tools to enhance visibility, control, and efficiency in operations.
