Position Summary:

 

The primary function of this position is to supervise the plant operations. The Supervisor will serve as a crucial link between hourly employees and management. In this role, the supervisor will provide the resources and direction necessary for the employee to properly perform his or her job. The Supervisor will be held accountable for all applicable Key Process Indicators (KPIs). KPIs are prioritized and adjusted as necessary based on business conditions.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee the production, manning, and day-to-day manufacturing operations in a cost-effective manner.
  • Responsible for meeting production goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe and clean work area and the safety of the employees.
  • Adhere to the company’s Quality and Environmental policies.
  • Facilitate communication amongst hourly and salary employees.
  • Manages continuous improvement with respect to 5S and other initiatives.
  • Responsible for making sure all hourly employees are effectively trained on work instructions, machinery, equipment, processes and required paperwork has been completed.
  • Manage non-exempt hourly employees’ performance.
  • Hold employees accountable for following procedures and policy.
  • Foster a positive and respectful environment and resolve conflicts amongst employees.
  • Evaluate employees performance and coach/counsel as needed.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Three or more years of experience in a similar or related supervisory role.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Able to work required hours which may include weekends and holidays.

 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

 

  • Mechanical aptitude or maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Management.
  • Previous experience with an automotive supplier is preferred.
