We are looking for a Customer Care Account Specialist to join our Catalyst team in Houston, TX.

BASF’s Catalysts division is the global market leader in catalyst technologies. The division develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts as well as process catalysts and offers precious metals trading, recycling and related products and services. 

 

Our team is seeking a Customer Care Account Specialist for our Houston, Texas office. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for our Chemical Catalyst customer base. The specialist will manage the entire order-to-cash process, address customer inquiries, and support supply chain initiatives, all while maintaining high-quality service, collaboration, and communication. This role ensures that customer needs are met efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the specialist will engage in continuous improvement initiatives and develop supply chain acumen to enhance their ability to serve both internal and external customers, optimizing the role's impact.

 

As a Customer Care Account Specialist, you create chemistry by...

  • Managing and taking full responsibility to the entire order-to-cash cycle, including order entry, fulfillment, overseeing shipment delivery, and invoicing.
  • Consistently building, proactively engaging, and maintaining strong relationships by collaborating closely, and communicating to both internal and external customers.
  • Handling internal and external inquiries and resolving issues impacting orders including troubleshooting and managing exceptions in a quick, methodical, and efficient manner while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Identifying opportunities for optimizing service efficiency and driving continuous improvement in customer service operations. Acting as a testing liaison as needed.
  • Capturing failures and customer complaints via Non-Conformance Management process by utilizing critical thinking skills.
  • Setting up and maintaining customer data, utilizing systems and technology for account management tasks, and potentially preparing and analyzing reports on performance metrics.
  • Managing business continuity workbooks. Ensuring that all critical processes and procedures are documented and regularly updated.
  • Cross training on other desks and act as a backup.

If you...

  • Have an education in Supply Chain, Business Management, or Logistics, preferably.
  • Hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in customer care, logistics, or other supply chain areas.
  • Have experience in imports or exports as a plus.
  • Possess a good understanding of incoterms.
  • Have proficiency in SAP and MS Office applications.
  • Hold the ability to work independently, be a self-starter, and contribute to a collaborative team setting.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to prioritize.
