Hybrid Schedule: 3 Days in Office, 2 Days Remote


General Description: The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing core accounting operations, ensuring compliance with grant and funder requirements, and supporting financial reporting and budgeting processes for MCCH and related entities. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, managing revenue and receivables, and supporting month-end and year-end close activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely entries for all entities.
  • Supervise accounting staff of MCCH and related entities.
  • Responsible for accounts receivable billing and oversight of grant reimbursements and program revenue.
  • Prepare general ledger and bank reconciliations, including all balance sheet accounts for all entities.
  • Lead the monthly and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements, including allowable costs and reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly bank and GL reconciliations for review and approval for all MCCH and CH.
  • Review and monitor budgets. Communicate to program staff and other stakeholders budget variances. Prepare budget modifications as necessary.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances and areas of      improvement.
  • Import and maintain monthly journal entries for assigned areas, including but not limited to payroll, fringe benefits, prepaid expenses, and indirect expenses
  • Responds to inquiries from program directors, senior management, vendors and staff
  • Assists in audit preparation including but not limited to preparation of audit schedules 
  • Administrative duties and other projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

   

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field a must, CPA license preferred.
  • Minimum ten years of progressive accounting experience in fiscal management.
  • Experience in a non-profit with multiple programs and complex funding a must.
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting and auditing principles and standards.
  • Knowledge of Financial Edge and Yardi preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff and lead teams.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
