Director of Patient Care Services – Nursing Administration – Full Time

What to expect as a Director of Patient Care Services:

  •  Responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of patient care services within the Critical Access Hospital.
  • Provides leadership to nursing unit directors, clinical coordinators, supervisors, and frontline staff within assigned patient care areas.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care across inpatient, hospital outpatient, emergency, swing bed, and ancillary service areas. 
  •  Enters into staffing as needed. 
  • Ensures BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications are up to date as serving as an instructor for the facility.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, supports regulatory compliance, and advances patient-centered initiatives in alignment with the hospital’s mission, vision, and values. 
  • Reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and assists in achieving nursing strategic priorities and organizational goals. 
  • Leads efforts as it relates to student experiences in facility including planning, implementation, and evaluation of “students” clinical experiences.
  • Assists with quality metrics reporting, audits, and root cause analyses related to patient care services.
  • Assists in developing and monitoring departmental budgets.
  • Fosters good public relations for the organization, speaking positively about SGCMH, while at work and in the community.

Requirements

  

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing
  • 3-5 years of experience in supervision
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS CPR required
  • Certification as an instructor: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS Instructor (or within 9 months of hire)
  • Completion of DHSS Approved Clinical Instructor course (or with in 6 months of hire)
