Overview

 

Job Title: Concrete Lab Technician

 

Location: Oniste 5 days per week (M-F) at our Cumming, GA location.

 

Pay is dependent upon experience and will be discussed during the consideration process.

Role & Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure concrete laboratory is operated and maintained in a manner consistent with Quikrete Cement’s Mission, Vision and Values which uphold Environmental, Health & Safety Standards.
  • Perform concrete testing of MRC, shipping, competitive and CCRL samples.
  • Perform investigative tests as required for complaint resolution, competitive testing program, product quality control in concrete and product development.
  • Provide testing services for internal and external customers when requested.
  • Assist in maintaining lab equipment including checks, standardization and verification of calibrations.
  • Maintain records in Concrete Laboratory in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO and laboratory procedures.
  • Reporting of quality testing data.
  • Coordinates Laboratory activities with Technical Services Director and Technical Services Engineer.
  • Review of all non-conformances created at the Concrete Laboratory.
  • Ensure processes required for the QMS are established, implemented and maintained.
  • Ensure the Technical Services Director and Technical Services Engineer are aware of the performance of the QMS and any need for improvement.
  • Participates in internal audits of the QMS Supervise lab operators, lab facility and maintaining QC equipment Continuous improvement of the QMS through data analysis and suggestions.
  • Maintains certifications and training requirements.
  • Promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization

 

Educational | Experience | Skills Requirements:

 

  • Associate degree in concrete technology or a minimum of five years’ work experience in concrete or laboratory testing.
  • Experience with concrete laboratory testing standards and procedures
  • ACI and DOT Certifications preferred
  • Demonstrate the ability to take initiative based on sound problem solving skills.
  • Detailed oriented and able to follow written procedures.
  • Willing to learn various computer information systems.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Flexible team player with strong inter-personal skills, with the ability to deal with human and technical adverse situations.
