Description

The Student Note Copier supports the Office of Accessibility Services by contributing to the academic success of students with disabilities. In this role, students will gain insight into the diverse needs and experiences of individuals with disabilities, while developing a deeper appreciation for inclusion and shared human experiences through training and meaningful interactions with people of varying abilities.


Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Submit legible class notes to the Office of Accessibility Services within 24 hours of each class; same-day submission is preferred.
  • Copy notes, place originals in the designated bin, and sign the note copier log after each submission.
  • If a class is missed, coordinate with the instructor or classmates to gather missed notes.
  • Notify the Office of Accessibility Services in advance if three or more classes will be missed to ensure continued support for the student receiving notes.
  • Inform the office immediately upon withdrawal from the class.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with FERPA and college policies.
  • Uphold a professional and respectful attitude at all times, representing Keuka College positively.
  • Participate in training sessions and required meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Student Accessibility Specialist or Director.

Physical & Scheduling Requirements:

  • Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. 

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in Keuka College’s traditional on-campus program.
  • Eligible for Federal Work Study or Keuka College Work Study.
  • Submit a sample of class notes for quality review and approval.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability and strong attendance in classes.
  • Strong pen-and-paper note-taking skills.
  • Experience (Field Period, internship, or volunteer work) with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respond professionally to student, faculty, and staff needs.
  • High tolerance for interruptions and ability to manage responsibilities under pressure.
