The Prince George’s County Office of Central Services is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Supply Property Clerk I/II, grade G 9/10 position, in the Supply-Property Clerk 1G Division.
About the Position
This is entry level routine manual labor work in the receipt, storage, issuance, delivery, and pick up of supplies, equipment, and other property items at various locations. Work requires physical stamina in order to lift, move and place heavy objects throughout a full shift. Incumbent is expected to operate a cargo/box truck daily to make deliveries. Assistance with warehouse operations may take precedence over driving depending on workflow. Provide excellent customer service when dealing with inside/outside agencies. Work is performed under close supervision and is evaluated as it relates to the overall efficiency of storeroom/warehousing operations.
Upon satisfactory completion of a probationary period, entry level incumbents may be non-competitively promoted to the II full performance level at management’s discretion.

The Office of Central Services is a multifaceted agency of the Prince George’s County Government providing government-wide, mission critical support services in the areas of facilities operations and management, building design & construction, real estate services, fleet management, and general services. We make government operations operate better for the government.Position Duties
Receives and checks a variety of supplies, equipment items, and materials according to pre-established routines and methods.
Loads stock onto light automotive vehicles, drives light automotive vehicles to deliver, return and pick up supplies, equipment, memoranda, and other written materials.
Fills orders for supplies and equipment.
Maintains records of inventoried materials.
Prepares records for the release of seized property.
Under direct supervision, modifies storeroom stock arrangement for the improvement of operational efficiency.
Transports departmental vehicles to various locations to install, remove or repair equipment.
Assists the supervisor in the preparation of vehicles for disposal.
May be required to use automated equipment in conjunction with assigned duties and responsibilities.
Willingly and cooperatively performs tasks and duties which may not be specifically listed in the class specification or position description, but which are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s class for work.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate,
- Six (6) months experience purchasing, distributing, inventorying or stocking equipment, materiel or supplies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of the Maryland State Motor Vehicle Code regulating truck operations.
Minimum of two years of experience with commercial vehicle operation.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to read a map and have an understanding of electronic GPS technology.
Experience coordinating logistical operations and allocating warehouse space.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with central receiving and distribution programs.

Must maintain a valid Driver’s license with six (6) points or less
Wear required safety equipment and uniforms while on duty.
Must pass a physical examination and drug test.
Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.
Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee. Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies. Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.
