About the Role:

Are you a passionate Emergency Department nurse with trauma experience looking to take the next step in your career? Delta Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Trauma Nurse Coordinator (TNC) to join our team and play a critical role in optimizing trauma care delivery, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and promoting continuous quality improvement and education.

Under the direction of the Emergency Department Director, the TNC is responsible for coordinating trauma care delivery for patients of all ages, managing trauma program operations, and acting as a liaison between hospital departments, regulatory agencies, and community partners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage the trauma registry database and ensure accurate documentation of all trauma cases
  • Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives and trauma care reviews
  • Participate in trauma patient chart reviews and enter required data into the registry
  • Monitor trauma team activations, response times, debriefings, and video reviews
  • Plan and implement trauma-related educational programs and injury prevention initiatives
  • Prepare for trauma designation surveys and facilitate committee meetings
  • Collaborate with local and state trauma system agencies, including SEMTAC, WRETAC, and others
  • Assist in budget management and cost containment strategies
  • Coordinate and plan the hospital’s Annual Trauma Conference
  • Serve on internal and external committees (e.g., Safety Committee, Disaster Planning)
  • Occasionally provide bedside care to maintain clinical integration with ED team
  • Follow up with patients transferred out of the facility
  • Act as a resource and mentor for ED and inpatient nursing staff

Qualifications:

  • Current Colorado RN license (BSN preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years Emergency Department/Trauma RN experience
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, ENPC
  • Preferred certifications: TCRN, CEN
  • Strong knowledge of trauma systems and regulatory requirements
  • Completion of IS-100 and IS-700 (FEMA NIMS training) within first 30 days
  • Advanced computer and data management skills
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational abilities

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/move patients and equipment (up to 250 lbs with assistance)
  • Extended standing, walking, and manual dexterity required
  • Must be able to respond to equipment alarms and perform physical assessments
