Job Purpose


Support the efficient operation of the marine parts department by receiving, organizing, and distributing boat and marine equipment parts. Responsibilities include managing inventory, fulfilling customer and service orders, preparing shipments, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming marine parts and materials.
  • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare boat parts orders for internal departments, retail customers, and service teams.
  • Organize and store parts in designated locations by category (e.g., engine components, electrical systems, rigging, hardware).
  • Label and tag parts clearly for identification and inventory tracking.
  • Assist in constructing or assembling parts kits as required for repairs or installations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
  • Prepare and complete shipping documentation for outgoing parts orders.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Occasionally drive the company vehicle to pick up or deliver parts.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, adhering to all marine industry safety protocols.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Parts Lead or management.


Requirements

 Skills and Competencies

  • Familiarity with marine and boating parts, including terminology and applications (e.g.,outboard/inboard engines, steering systems, navigation equipment).
  • Ability to identify parts by manufacturer, part number, size, and function.
  • Strong attention to detail in order picking and labeling.
  • Basic math, reading, and computer skills for inventory and order systems.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions, safety guidelines, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Forklift/powered equipment certification is a plus.


Qualification Requirements:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a marine, automotive, or similar parts-related role preferred.
  • Experience with inventory systems or marine parts software a plus.
  • Dependable and team-oriented, with a strong work ethic.
  • Experience in a warehouse environment is a plus.


Physical Requirements:

  

  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled marine warehouse environment.
  • Regularly lift and move marine parts weighing 10–50 lbs; occasionally lift/move over 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, and use of ladders.
  • Ability to tolerate a wide range of temperatures and outdoor conditions typical of marine environments.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly use hands and arms for handling, reaching, and operating tools or equipment.
  • Must wear proper safety equipment at all times.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
